To be disciples, to make disciples
Lester Memorial Methodist Church is a great place to worship and serve Christ. We take seriously our mission statement; “To Be Disciples, To Make Disciples.” Through worship, study, outreach and mission we seek to grow in our relationship with Christ and live out our discipleship in tangible ways. Our church is involved in local missions, regional missions and international missions. It is our belief that wherever there is human need the Church is called to mission. We are the hands and feet of Jesus, agents of God’s love and grace to all people. We welcome you and hope to greet you in person as we worship and serve God.
We do believe --- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV) 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
We do believe the Biblical truth found in the “Apostles Creed” and in the “Nicene Creed.”
The four Scriptures below can help us know who we are and what God has called us to do. There is great vision, direction, focus, and challenge in these four passages of Scripture. Come join us as we follow Jesus, listen to the Holy Spirit, and pursue the call of God on our lives.
THE GREAT COMMANDMENT – Mark 12:30-31 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
THE GREAT COMMISSION - Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
THE GREAT CONDITION – II Chronicles 7:14 If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
THE GREAT REQUIREMENT – Micah 6:8 “…And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God.
